Objectives

The objectives of the Monsignor Stephen Kyne Technical College (MSKTC) are:

1. To teach students and train future technicians and engineers to become industrious;
2. To build the capacity of students through skills and knowledge to be efficient in addressing the challenges of engineering;
3. To prepare students for graduate study in various fields of engineering;
4. To prepare students and graduates to contribute to the community and national development.

Major in Engineering

A candidate for the degrees of Associate of Art (AA) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Architectural Engineering, Building Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Environmental Science must complete a combined total of 146, 197, 211, or 153 respectively of semester hours to qualify for graduation at the Bachelor level. The curriculum in each field of study is presented in two parts:

Part I: Deals with the complete Associate of Arts (AA) degree program.

Part II: Deals with third, fourth, and fifth year of the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree program.

The program of study for each of the six areas of the curriculum is made of three core courses: 1) the academic supporting, 2) the technical orientation, and 3) the specialized engineering courses. In addition to this arrangement of the program, the curriculum is designed to provide a considerable time for practical experience through laboratory activities and field training programs.
